One of the most popular macOS viruses is called CookieMiner. This malware was found in January 2019, and it is known for stealing cyber currency.
The malware steals the users’ password and login information for their cyberwallets and obtains the browser authentication cookies.
CookieMiner is also associated with cryptocurrency exchanges and it is even capable of accessing the iTunes backups that contain text messages and information required to bypass two-factor authentication and steal the victim’s cryptocurrency.
In order to protect their Mac from CookieMiner, we advise Mac users to clear their browser caches every time after logging into their financial accounts.
Due to the fact that the CookieMiner malware is connected to Chrome browser, you should better use a different web browser.
