Apple released the second beta of its macOS 10.15 Catalina to public beta testers. The public Beta 2 was launched one week after the first public beta and just a day after the third developer beta release.

Public beta testers who have signed up for Apple’s beta testing program can download the macOS Catalina beta via the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences after installing the right profile.

Anyone who wants to be a part of Apple’s beta testing program can sign up to participate through the beta testing website. Apart from the macOS beta access, the website allows users to access the iOS and tvOS betas.

All beta testers should not forget to make a full Time Machine backup before installing macOS Catalina. Also, they need to know that installing the second beta on a primary machine is not a good idea as betas can have many bugs.

Despite the release of the second public beta of macOS Catalina, Apple has not seeded the second public beta of iOS 13 yet. Nevertheless, the second public beta of tvOS 13 is already available through
Apple’s Public Beta Program.
