Adware.MAC.DLNow removal using Activity Monitor

  1. Open your Launchpad, select “Other“, and select “Activity Monitor“ from the list.

  1. Search for any suspicious process name in the Activity Monitor, and if you notice such, double-click on it.

  2. Click the “Sample” button in the opened window. An additional window will open and you will see a line starting with “Path:” Select the path of the suspicious process (select the path, then right click over the selection and select “Copy“).

  3. Click on any blank space on your desktop and select “Go” from the top menu.

  4. Select “Go to Folder…“ from the “Go” menu and paste the path of the suspicious process you copied in the opened window.

  5. Drag and drop the suspicious file from the opened folder to the Trash.

 

Keep in mind that some adware apps install unwanted extensions onto your web browsers. This is how you can remove them from the different browsers.

 

Remove rogue browser extensions from Safari

  1. Open your Safari browser. Click on Safari in the top menu and select “Preferences” from the list.
  2. Select “Extensions” from the preferences window and remove all suspicious extensions by clicking “Uninstall“.
