The Meltdown and Spectre viruses allow hackers to steal your data.
Meltdown involves a “rogue data cache load” and it can enable a user process to read kernel memory.
While Spectre could be either a “bounds check bypass,” or “branch target injection” which could make items in kernel memory available to user processes. These can be exploited in JavaScript running in a web browser.
The Apple company had already issued patches to mitigate the Meltdown flaw, however, it advises Mac users to install apps from trusted sources only.
Also, you should keep your computer updated at all times. In case the updates are not installed on your Mac automatically, just visit the official App Store and click on Updates.
