Battery drain issues could be very annoying for MacBook users. Thus, they should find the best way to fix them as soon as possible. If you happen to have the same problem, don’t hesitate to read our how-to guide and get the best out of your MacBook.

You can check the percentage of your battery life on the menu bar of your MacBook. If you notice that the battery drains faster than usual, you should follow the steps listed below.

  1. Restart – despite the fact that restarting is a very simple operation, this could be the right solution of your problem:
    • Open the Menu button on the left corner of the screen.
    • Click Restart.
    • Click the Restart button on the pop-up menu to confirm the operation. If you want to end the countdown process and reboot your Mac, just click Restart. To check if the battery drain has been ceased, you can repeat these steps once again.
  2. Check your battery usage – the “battery shaming” is a great way to check which app is using more power of your MacBook:
    • Click the Battery icon on the right side of the Menu bar.
    • Open the app to check the battery usage. Sometimes the quick battery drain is due to rendering videos or opening several tabs consecutively. If you delete the apps that you don’t use, this will improve the battery life.
  3. Update your MacBook and the apps on it constantly – if you want to improve your Mac’s battery life, you should run the latest updates for MacOS:
    • Click on the App Store icon on your screen.
    • Click on the Updates on the top.
    • Click on Update all.
    • Enter your Apple ID pass and wait for the apps to get updated.
  4. Use Native Apps Only – use Safari as it is better for the battery life of your Mac. As Apple uses Safari for coding, this is the best option for MacBook.
  5. Extend Your MacBook Battery Life –
    • Turn down the screen brightness
    • Turn off the Wi-Fi when you are not online.
    • Replace speakers with headphones when listening to music or watching a movie.

Once you have performed all the above-mentioned operations, your Mac’s battery life should be saved. In case anything gets wrong, try contacting Apple support for further assistance.
