Have you tried to send emails with your Mac? If you want to do this, you have to add an email account first. In some cases though, you can’t add your email as an error message shows up saying: “Connection Insecure. Failed to verify the server certificate. This could be because of your network configuration or your proxy settings”.

This is a very annoying issue and most often it concerns users with Yahoo, Gmail and Outlook accounts. If you have the same problem, you need to know that usually, it is due to your anti-virus software. So, this is how you should turn it off to solve the issue:

  1. From the Apple menu select System Preferences.
  2. Press Security or Security & Privacy.
  3. Unlock the panel by clicking the lock situated in the lower-left corner and fill in the administrator user name and password.
  4. Press Turn off Firewall to disable the Firewall.
  5. Select Advanced to customize the firewall configuration.

Once the above-mentioned actions are completed, you should be able to add and send emails successfully. If anything does not work properly, you need to contact the Apple support for further assistance.
